Random Drive By Updates, Monday Version

Apparently I’ve got a following among the Russian spammers. The Cyrillic script is pretty and all, but…just sayin’.

Friday night was AWESOME – we went to see The Blanks at the McKinney Performing Arts Center. It was very much worth the ticket price and the drive halfway to Oklahoma to see it. We thought it was going to be a concert, it’s a SHOW. It’s Forever Plaid 2.0. And for those of you who don’t know – Forever Plaid is my most favorite musical OF. ALL. TIME. But The Blanks may just knock that right out of the water – since they’re a bit more updated *and* start the show with the theme from “Underdog”.

For those who haven’t heard, The Blanks are also “Ted’s Band” from SCRUBS (also known as “Worthless Peons”). But man, they’re AWESOME!!!! Hysterically funny. And lots of cute, geeky goodness. GO SEE THE SHOW if it comes to a town near you.

Saturday, we put some new grass down in one eroding section of our backyard. One of my hamstring muscles isn’t very happy with me for doing that, but it was gorgeous weather and exercise. Sunday was weird running around and errands and choir practice for our Christmas program. It’s weird.

Now, I focus on writing. All that above? It’s inspirational. Really. Spending time outside this weekend really blew out a lot of the cobwebs of the like two weeks of rain and such. The Blanks – well, they’re inspirational on a creative level. Their CD is on my iPod in high rotation because it’s the goofy goodness that leads to creativity. And now it’s time to get back to work.

I started today by calling a truce with Monday. Hopefully it won’t headsmack me like it did the last couple of weeks. I need a Middle of the Road day. Really. I do.
