Dixon Update – Good News/No News

Dixon is with the vet. Four of us couldn’t hold her down enough to get blood drawn for the full work up. Initial diagnosis is NO STROKE – hyper-thyroidism and glaucoma. We’ll see if there’s anything else when the vet calls back. In order to get blood he had to give her a sedative – one easily reversed and suited to ancient cats. We have a good vet. A calm and collected vet.

But with hyper-thyroidism, there is renal failure. That’s one of the tests – to see how much kidney function she has left. We’ll know more tonight. For now, I’m distracting myself with work.
