[Pen/Pencil Review] Inc. ClipClicks 8-Color Multipack
I was going to do a review today – and then discovered I’d already done that particular piece a few weeks ago. Yay for totally not remembering. Not. So… here we go. The last thing I picked up in a couple of random trips to Dollar Tree. This was the ClipClick from Inc. eight color multipack of ballpoint pens
This pen is about5.5†long with a clip click retraction mechanism – you push down on the plunger and retract by pushing the plastic clip. The barrels are clear plastic with color coded plungers, grips and ink covers. The retraction mechanism is solid. There’s a nod to ergonomics with the color-matched rubber grips. They’re okay for what they are.
These pens have 1.0mm inks in a literal rainbow of 8 colors – primary red, blue, black with green, orange, light blue, purple, and pink. The ink is okay. Less gloppy than it could be, but still inexpensive ink – which considering the pens cost $1 for the eight pack? Not much of a quibble.
The numbers:
1. How does it work? – 1 Considering it’s a dollar store novelty ballpoint pen set. The inks are decent and the retraction mechanism works pretty well.
2. Grip and feel – 1 – It’s got a nod to ergonomics for a cheap plastic pen. It is what it is.
3. Material – 1 It’s cheap plastic and art ribbon. It’s fun but cheap.
4. Overall Design – 1 – They’re fun colors and solid cheap plastic clicker pens.
5. Price Point – 1 – It’s a DOLLAR ($1) at DOLLAR Tree. For the sheer joy it gives in petting and pretty – it’s worth the dollar. The fact that it works at all? Bonus points.
