[Spotlight Post] International Fountain Pen Day
I’m a bad blogger… I didn’t even know November 1st is International Fountain Pen Day. Not until the fine folks at Pen Heaven told me about it. They even asked if I would share some information from their blog with you.
Since last night was Halloween, I hope you all had a fun and safe adventure last night, and I didn’t get a Spotlight Post written YESTERDAY. I’m going to show you a taste of what Pen Heaven has put together, then you can go see it – and their site for yourself.
Their post is Happy Fountain Pen Day!
In case you weren’t aware, fountain pens have a rich history dating back over 5,000 years. Here are some fun facts about fountain pens that you may not have been aware of:
The earliest form of fountain pen was used by the Ancient Egyptians, in 3,000BC. They used a reed straw to write with ink made from vegetable gum and soot. Fountain pens can learn! If your fountain pen has a gold nib, this soft metal will slowly adjust to your style of writing over time. Therefore, the more you use your pen, the more unique your handwriting will become. The most expensive fountain pen in the world is the Aurora Diamante. Made from solid platinum and covered with two thousand precious stones, it’s worth approximately £922,000
So go Pen Heaven – I will be – to see what our friends “Across the Pond” are offering in pens and pen information. If you’re in the UK, go check them out and support your local pen folk. And they do have WorldWide shipping, so it’s not just for the UK. They do reviews, buying guides, promotional things, all kinds of fun stuff. And they seem like really nice folk.
Go hang out over there – see what else they have to say about fountain pens on their blog.
