[Spotlight Post] Peri Charlifu
So it’s Friday, and I’m heading to SoonerCon–and realized I hadn’t done a Spitlight post. So while Jimmy drives, I am typing his on my phone. Sorry about typos and stuff. This will be bare bones.
One of the artists who will be at SoonerCon is Peri Charlifu. If you do SF conventions and been in an art show, you’ve seen his work. Peri does some of the most beautiful, one of a kind, pottery.
Not only is the actually pottery beautiful (he has gorgeous colors and styles), he also writes a very short story/history for each piece. So you are entertained as well as buying artwork.
It’s also (for the most part) incredibly useful. Dishwasher, microwave, and dishwasher safe, the eleven (and now Cthulu) kitchenware is suitable for everyday use. We have a spoon cannister in our kitchen with oiling tools in it. I love it.
But the artwork is only part of the attraction. Peri Charlifu is also one of the nicest people’ve had the opportunity to work with. He is–as a person–a beautiful a soul as his artwork. Which is why I love support his art, and can’t wait to see him at SoonerCon.
When I get back to a real computer, I will try to remember to come back and add links and pictures. There is only so much I’m willing to try in a hurtling car. But if you are coming to SoonerCon, I hear he’s bringing 94 pieces. Let’s see if we can send him home with empty boxes.
Oh? And he dies cute 2D art too. Don’t forget to check that out.
