DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME
Here I am, motoring along toward my deadline. I did good work last night – on hard copy.
Now there are many writers out there who are most excellent at keyboard composition. I’m a tactile person. I still like ink and paper. And now I have – sad and annoying – validation.
I put in all the small changes and a couple of medium-sized changes straight into my screenplay from the notes sent by the client. It was late, closed stuff down, went to bed. Revisited the file this morning. All those changes? Not there. Somewhere I clicked something that said “DON’T save changes”, or something.
Now I get to recreate THAT – on the hard copy – and re-input it. Remembering to save often. In fact, I just backed that folder up to my thumbdrive…JUST IN CASE.
DOH…

Don’t you just hate it when that happens? And it does, to all of us. Fortunately not very often.
I find, although I hate to admit it, that usually the lost edits become even better, or I think they are, when I have to do them over.
hey, love the rss in the coffee cup.
